Foodie | Chocolate Orange Energy Balls

Lets talk balls. Energy balls. Chocolate orange energy balls. Aka little bites of goodness.

The chocolate and orange combination work perfectly together and make a great afternoon snack or lil treat. Taste buds approval... CHECK! They're healthy yet absolutely delicious, packed with nutritious, feel good ingredients leaving you feeling great and boosted with energy.

Energy balls are actually so easy to make, hence why I love them. They're so simple! You can make a huge batch at the start of the week and have them stored whenever you may want one. Pop them in your gym bag, grab on the go, little pick me up or enjoy with your afternoon brew.

They're packed with ground almonds with are a brilliant source of fat, fresh orange flavours, raw cacao powder packed with antioxidants bringing natural energy and boost in mood, naturally sweetened with maple syrup, coconut oil and almond butter to help bind! It's also optional to add some Vegan chocolate protein powder for a protein boost and of course extra chocolate goodness.

I've tried a few different energy ball combinations but I do bloody love these ones. I literally think chocolate orange must be one of my favourite flavour combinations. I used to adore Terry's chocolate orange. You just can't beat it. And it's what makes these lil balls so moorish, rich and addictive. They're perfectly sweet and chocolatey that it's actually hard to believe they are good for you. They certainly bust any sweet craving and satisfy you! Even if I could 100% eat the whole batch...

1 cup of groud almonds
Zest & juice of one orange
3 Tbsp cacao powder (extra for rolling)
1 scoop Vegan chocolate protein powder (optional)
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp almond butter (or alternative nut butter)
3 tbsp maple syrup/agave maple syrup

Combine all of the ingredients above in a blender and blitz until fully combined and a sticky mixture is made. Roll into evenly sized balls and then place in the fridge or freezer to set!

Store in a air tight container in the fridge and enjoy! If you want them to last longer, store in the freezer for up to a month!
